Yet another Vista-Xp Network ?
My XP Pro install is on another hard drive, and of course when I boot into XP Pro it sees it's partition as drive C, and the Vista partition on the other drive changes to Vista/XP and sharing drive/folders etc. so it seems you could use the same Qkn dataset from either - but, of course, still not at the same time.

A small primary C drive as the Page file, logical D for Win2K, E for XP, F for Vista etc. All those partitions were formatted FAT32. I installed Win2K first on drive D. Next I installed XP. I didn't know what Fixboot did, I thought it was the same thing as Fdisk /MBR ... obviously it does more.

This is the same partition which was the C: drive in XP, containing NTLDR and Vista's boot loader and an XP installation, but not containing the Vista installation. I also can access any and all XP shared from Vista including C:documents and settings. (I have NO problems accessing XP from Vista). While I understand need to be careful using I apologize for "shouting" above, but I know there are others with this same problem and I hope someone else can benefit from my pain.

found a saved email with a PPS attachment and sure enough - I get that same error message about creating an association! (I can still open a PPS from whatever folder I've saved it I'm wondering if perhaps it's a "Vista vs. XP" thing, because I think you guys are both on Vista where as I am still running XP.

Kris I got on one of the tech newsgroups and a lot of others seem to have the exact same problem. The most often suggested cure was to get rid of McAfee or Norton AV and You might want to contact your computer vendor and request that they replace Vista with XP Home Professional. You'll be a much happier camper.
